Two Years Full-Time: A Journey of Growth, Challenges, and Triumphs
This week marks a huge milestone in my journey - two years since I took the leap and left the security of employment to go full-time with INcharge Services. Reflecting on the past two years, it’s incredible to see how far I’ve come, both personally and professionally.
When I first decided to step away from my job, there was a mix of excitement and fear.
Would the business succeed?
Could I manage everything on my own?
How on earth would I pay my bills?
It was a decision that required courage, but it was also one that felt right, and I have always been one to trust my gut. I knew that INcharge Services had the potential to truly help business owners take control of their cash flow, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make it my full-time focus. If I didn’t take the opportunity now, I’d always have wondered “what if?”.
The Highs
The first year was all about building a foundation and connections. It wasn’t always smooth sailing and I had many wobbles along the way, but there were so many rewarding moments. From securing my first few clients to finally setting up processes that allowed me to provide consistent, professional service, it was all starting to fall into place.
I’ll never forget the day I signed my first client. It was a validation of everything I had worked for. Since then, the business has grown steadily, and the connections I’ve made with clients, fellow business owners, and mentors have been invaluable.
But what stands out the most in these two years is the feeling of control and freedom that I’ve gained. I get to make the decisions, set the direction, and really be in charge of my future. And that’s what INcharge Services is all about, helping others take control of their business’s financial health so they can focus on what they do best.
The Challenges
Of course, it hasn’t all been easy. There have been (many) moments of self doubt, periods of uncertainty, and a lot of trial and error. Managing the business, handling the financial side, and continuing to grow the client base requires balancing many different tasks at once. There were times when I questioned if I had made the right choice and whether I would be better off going back to employment - surely it would be easier?
But in those challenging moments, I reminded myself of why I started. Every challenge has been a learning opportunity, and every setback has been a chance to improve. Two years in, I’ve learned more about business, resilience, and myself than I ever could have imagined.
The Growth
Looking back, it’s impossible not to be proud of what’s been achieved. INcharge Services is no longer just an idea - it’s a thriving business that’s making a real difference for small business owners who are struggling with their sales ledger and cash flow management. I’ve built a reputation for being reliable, professional, and proactive in addressing my clients’ needs.
But even more than the business growth, I’ve grown as a person. I’ve learned how to manage my time more effectively, how to make decisions with confidence, and how to handle both the successes and the setbacks with a positive mindset.
Personal Development & Confidence Boost
One of the most unexpected and rewarding aspects of my journey has been the personal growth I’ve experienced, especially thanks to my involvement in BNI. Not only have I gained invaluable professional connections, but I’ve also been pushed outside of my comfort zone. I’ve had to face the things that scare me the most, like public speaking. Standing in front of a room full of business owners, presenting my services, and sharing my story was never something I saw myself doing. Yet, through regular practice at BNI and constant encouragement from the fantastic business owners in the room, I’ve gained confidence and become a better speaker.
It’s amazing how much growth can happen when you push yourself to tackle those fears head on. Public speaking used to have my heart rate through the roof and palms sweating, but now I look forward to the opportunity to share my story and expertise. It’s not just about growing my business; it’s about becoming a more confident, empowered version of myself.
What’s Next?
As I look ahead to the next two years, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation. There are so many more opportunities to explore, new challenges to take on, and ways to continue helping small businesses take control of their financial health.
I’ve always believed in the power of hard work, perseverance, and staying true to yourself - and that’s what keeps me going. Here’s to the next chapter of this journey, and to many more years of making an impact!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Your trust and encouragement mean the world.
